#118 - Honest Abe

There is always a lesson to learn when you watch “The Rifleman.” There is no better teacher for Mark than his father, Lucas McCain. Lucas teaches Mark from “The Bible” and from experience. Sometimes the lessons are hard ones and at times rather easy ones. They are still lessons learned! Let’s discuss the lessons learned in each episode. “Every lesson you learn makes you a better partner.” “Just remember the lessons!”

“Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?” ― Abraham Lincoln

I really liked Abraham Lincoln. One of my favorite presidents.

This is today's version: “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”
"Keep your 'sites' on The Rifleman"
"The Rifleman hits the 'Mark' every week on abc."

Abraham Lincoln was a pioneer-so-to-speak in municipal law. When a friend was injured on an unrpaired Springfield street, Mr. Lincoln argued the city of Springfield, Illinois had a duty to keep the streets safe.

I recently read about Abraham Lincoln's last case as a criminal lawyer. He defended a rather small young man for killing a large young man in self-defense. It was one of the first self-defense cases. Mr. Lincoln's client was acquitted.
