#18 - The Photographer

There is always a lesson to learn when you watch “The Rifleman.” There is no better teacher for Mark than his father, Lucas McCain. Lucas teaches Mark from “The Bible” and from experience. Sometimes the lessons are hard ones and at times rather easy ones. They are still lessons learned! Let’s discuss the lessons learned in each episode. “Every lesson you learn makes you a better partner.” “Just remember the lessons!”

In both episodes the fathers doubt the reality of what their sons say.  But because both fathers have faith in their sons, they prove in the end that it really was the true story.

We all learn that there are very good reasons we go through security before entering a court building!

Deleted scene:

Mark: pa, can I try to develop the picture?

Lucas: this is a very complicated adult matter, son.

Mark: pleeease, pa...

Lucas : go ahead, Mark (throwing his hands in the air in frustration )

When all else fails, read the directions. Mark does this and easily develops the picture.

Mark: gee,pa. There's Nothing to it!

According to shooting Lincoln by Nicholas pistor , being a photographer could be a dangerous profession. A photographer used explosive chemicals and glass plates.

Nope, just speculation and math speculation on my part.

OK ~ I choose to believe that Lucas was hopelessly head over heels unconditionally in love with Margaret.

And Mark was conceived on the honey-moon.

Times were different then - but I wouldn't judge Margaret if she was unable to control herself. After all - She was dating the sexiest man ever.

Lucas to Mark: "I love you more than anything else in the whole world."

I agree Deneen.....sexiest man ever. Even Patricia Blair even had the 'hots' for Chuck

This was taken from Chuck Connors book..... The Man Behind the Rifle by David Fury
Per Patricia......t was very obvious that she was quite attracted to Chuck, and thought he was a very special man.
"Chuck was very exciting to work with - he is a very exciting man. When he was wearing those tight jeans, and those rolled-up sleeves, he was one SEXY man! He was a walking sex machine"

SO we weren't the only ones lookin' at those tight jeans, rolled up sleeves. bare chest........sigh
