#90 - Miss Bertie

There is always a lesson to learn when you watch “The Rifleman.” There is no better teacher for Mark than his father, Lucas McCain. Lucas teaches Mark from “The Bible” and from experience. Sometimes the lessons are hard ones and at times rather easy ones. They are still lessons learned! Let’s discuss the lessons learned in each episode. “Every lesson you learn makes you a better partner.” “Just remember the lessons!”

Little known fact: twin cousins ran in Samantha's family. In addition to Sam's cousin serena, endora has a twin cousin as well. Here name was bertie. Bertie tried to support herself without using witchcraft, too. However, she did have to turn duke "durwood" Jennings into a canary and put him in a cage when he tried to escape before she could collect her reward!

What do you think miss Bertie's backstory was ? I think she was a retired governess, who had been"put out to pasture"in the old west."

Duke is on vacation in north fork. What kind of fun activities and places does north fork have-other than the saloon?

When Lucas tells duke north fork does not want any celebrities, is that Lucas's way of telling duke: "this town ain't big enough for the two of us!"?

Fun things to do???? Marks fishing hole, caves to explore, arrowheads to search for (and STAY out of the quicksand), nearby ghost towns to explore, turkey shoots, a Wild West Show occasionally came through town, and sitting down to a big plate of Lucas beef stew.

occasionally they had ladies singing in the saloon. or they could order the latest DVD from NETFLIX of all the bad dudes Lucas killed

Very true, wild west, mark should have invited miss Bertie and duke to the ranch for dinnerso we could watch Lucas grimace and scowl-or offer to show duke where to find arrowheads or how to fish.

Do Mark and miss Bertie meet up on the outskirts of north fork and cast a spell on mr. Griswald?

When miss Bertie changes her mind and announces she will stay in north fork for awhile, look closely and you can see Lucas's forced smile to be polite.
