TV Western Spin-off #5 The Rifleman

One good spin-off deserves another. I will post a TV Western show that was a spin-off of another TV Western show. Let's see how well you know where some of these westerns came from. After we guess the answers, I will put some video in about that show for everyone to enjoy. Okay, lets just see how good you are?

TV Western Spin-off #5 The Rifleman

This show was a Four Star Production and was a spin off from Zane Grey Theatre.  This show also had a spin-off of it's own which aired two episodes.

Like several of the other westerns this western is also known for the weapon in the show, sorta like a main character.

The original episode was written by Sam Peckinpah and produced by LGL Productions.

This show was known for the relationship between a father & son, not just the weapon.  Ok, so now I gave it a way!

It's interesting that this show was on for 5 years and produced one spin-off while Gunsmoke was on for 20 years and produced one spin-off - Dirty Sally.

Can you name this show?  Also the spin-off from this show?

Sorry cowgirl, I'm just a bit confused by your wording.
However, is the spinoff~The Law of the Plainsman~ starring Michael Ansara who played the role of the Indian Marshal Sam Buckhart...????
I'm still confused by your wording in your question....so I thought I'd take a guess anyway.

I guess it was a bit confusing.  But what I wanted was "The Rifleman."

Law of the Plainsman' wasn't a spin off of Zane Grey Theatre, but it was a spin-off of "The Rifleman"
