Favorite One Liners

Post by wildwest » Tue Aug 08, 2017 1:15 pm

Rifleman is riddled with a lot o great One Liners. Here are some of mine.

in Young Englishman Mark says of the suit of armor..."it could never stop a Winchester"

Flowers by the Door.....Mark tells Gowdy hie Pa "can track an ant through a cornfield" I actually saw the episode several times before I caught that

In Wrong Man Mark says..."there's no flies on my Pa"

"Money, marbles or chalk" was in 2 episodes. this is an old expression but I had never heard it before

love it in Young Mans Fancy when Lucas asks Mark what he is doing and he says..."carrying a bag"... too cute

Lucas said "looks like Oat (Jackford) is full of beans"

What are some of your favorites?? :horse09:

A Matter of Faith - But you were here - Mark was suppose to meet Lucas at Hattie's but was peeking outside / under the saloon doors

The Schoolmaster - Lucas McCain: Hate? Isn't that a strong word to use just because you don't agree with someone?
"Keep your 'sites' on The Rifleman"
"The Rifleman hits the 'Mark' every week on abc."

love that scene in Matter of Faith with Mark looking under the saloon door saying that line..... its funny....Mark was not allowed to go in the saloon because of the influence and violence...even Johnny Drako had to ask him to come in the saloon and he was an older Mark at this time......Johnny Clover had to ask Mark to come in the saloon so he could prove a point to Lucas

...but the kid had seen dozens of men killed in front of him and even a hanging. he should have been in Doc Burrage PTSD therapy for that and not worry if he was in the saloon or not

Also in Matter of Faith I like when Lucas says..."save your breath for cooling your soup"....and Lucas talking sweetly about 'the land' I love the references to "the land" in so many episodes.
in Matter of Faith Lucas says "One thing we'll always have is the land"

in Gone with the Wind (I am a big fan) they say about Tara "land is the only thing that lasts"

and" Frankly My Dear" Lucas is the hottest Sodbuster in the West

In Waste,
...I’m gonna kill you as dead as you’ll ever get!”
I dunno why I like that one, but I guess I just thought it was cool the way he said it. It's just before he whacks the guy with the shovel lol.

Ruskin......Thats a great line. The writers were good at clever 'one liners'. In Mind Reader Lucas says "I didn't ask to hear my head roar" ha

In Closer than a Brother.....Lucas asked Micah "what do you want me to do travel around the Territory carvin'' your name on trees?"

The retired gun

Claire: that's a very pretty story, Lucas. What did you do, make it up?

Thats a good one too. Clair was one who did challenge Lucas. did you know the actress who played Clair was married to Producer Arnold Laven? she was in 5 episodes
