We're off again!

Post by ruskin » Sat Apr 28, 2018 12:10 am

We are hitting the road again with the RV, heading east to house hunt in eastern BC and eventually go to Alberta for our youngest son's wedding on the 12th. We're going to see a whack of relatives afterwards then we'll see....

We weren't originally going to leave til Tuesday but hubby Dan is retired now so what the hey... "lets go tomorrow!" he said!...not that I'm packed or ready or anything lol :laughingcowboy:

So we'll check in with you all on the road!

Thanks, we had a couple glitches with the RV today, but luckily we weren't booked in anywhere in particular and we were leaving a few days earlier than planned. A switch went in the RV that works one of the slide outs so we couldn't go til that was fixed. Luckily where we stored the RV was at the place we bought it (used 2015) and they fixed the switch. Then we stopped in the middle of nowhere for a pit stop and the other slide out quit working... needless to say I had to "walk away" awhile while hubby Dan looked into it. Blew a fuse that time. He put in another fuse and that seemed to do the trick.

We are camped for the night now in a little "if blink you'll miss it" kind of place and will continue on our journey eastward if all goes well with the RV slides in the morning. Cross your fingers!

We are traveling the southern route in BC which of course is suffering from flood season now. We are checking the conditions frequently and hopefully things will be fine at our destinations the next few days.

Have a great time! I know you will enjoy yourself. Just be safe!

I remember when we use to travel for weeks at a time. So much fun, but there's no place like home!

Thanks, we're in my brother in laws area now, so far so good other than some issues with fuses still and no cable TV :sadcowboy:.

Our long term plan is to hopefully move here, hopefully by the end of the summer or early fall so we've been doing some house hunting. We'll probably just rent if we don't find anything in that time line. If we can pull this off, we'll be within a day's drive to our kids places instead of being 2 days away.

Just checking in.. . Can't remember the episode name but I feel like we are the sick couple in the covered wagon that Lucas and Mark found. Dunno what flu bug we caught but we are camped out in brother in laws town, a little better but still too weak to drive home.

That and the road we need to travel is suffering mud slides due to flood conditions.

Good thing Dan is retired! I just need to get back for a craft fair I am a vendor at but I will cancel if if we can't get there.

Hope all is well with everyone here.
