Topic Reply Notification

Post by Judy » Sat May 20, 2017 3:27 pm

Hi Judy (Ruskin) and/or Cowgirl,

I want to let you know that I am receiving Topic Reply Notifications, but when I click on the link provided, I am taken to the old forum. Here is one of the Topic Reply Notifications that I received this morning:

Topic Reply Notification - Old TV Show Trivia

http://themccainranch.myfreeforum.org/v ... 7917#57917

Can this be fixed?

BTW, Judy, did you get the PM I sent to you on the 18th?

Thanks,
Judy

Hi Judy,

I am still transferring posts from the old site Rifleman Trivia room, so it hasn't been locked and that's probably why you received the notification. I have made a couple of posts to the new site and not received any notification(s), but it may be just not set up for that yet.

I did add a question here for Judy R about whether or not we would be receiving reply notifications from the new site, same as the old.

The Rifleman Trivia room transfers should be completed by the end of this weekend so the room can be locked and these notifications will no longer be received.

Hi Judy,
This is still an active posting room, not yet locked. I get these to. I think the reason you are getting these, just for now, is Western Gal is working in The Rifleman Trivia room and when she makes some changes it sends out a notice to those whom have posted in that room.

Just delete them. Once we are finished moving files this should stop.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. :happycowboy:

Hi Judy :happycowboy:

There doesn't seem to be a way to delete the notifications in the mail box. :dontknow:

Hi Deneen, I found this bit of info from the phpBB people who make the forum software...
Read notifications are automatically deleted after a certain period (default is 30 days), defined in the ACP => Load settings - Read Notification Expiration.
I checked and ours are set for 30 days. So it looks like they'll go away on their own. I hope that helps.

I've been waiting to see if there was something posted about the "North Fork Ballot Box" room and either haven't seen it, or have missed it.

Is it just allowing for some extra space in the future, if needed, or is it a new feature? :dontknow:
