Cowgirl.....wasn't there an episode where Matt gets shot and Kitty takes care of him and then sells the Long Branch and leaves town. she goes to another town and I think goes partners in another saloon. She is tired of waiting on Matt and watching him get shot all the time

I agree 19 years is a long time not to have a romp in the hay like Lucas had with Lou. OR DID THEY?????
The episode you are talking about is The Badge .

Very good episode! I'm not saying Matt comes looking for Kitty to ask her to come back to Dodge, but I like to think that.

I don't think there is an episode of Gunsmoke I don't like. :sillycowboy:

The lady who Kitty goes into partnership with is Claire Hollis (Beverly Garland). Beverly Garland had appeared in several episodes of Gunsmoke and in Time of the Jackals was a past love interest of Matt's.

I always liked Beverly Garland and I got to meet her about six months before her passing. I asked he about Amanda Blake and she said they they were good friends and how much she enjoying working on Gunsmoke.

I also bought a picture of her and Robert Horton together from A Man Called Shenandoah. He happened to be at the same festival (FOTW) that year.

FYI: For you Rifleman fans, she was once married to Richard Garland.

The Gunsmoke Marathon was great. James was even very good in the episodes and movies he was much older! Still sat tall in the saddle.

I love the westerns, I grew up with them when the westerns ruled the TV. I still enjoy them over and over again!

It's sad seeing our cowboys get older and pass away. But they still live on, on TV. Thank Goodness!

Have any of you see the episode The Other Half with Lee Kinsolving in it?

He plays Jess Bartell / Jay Bartell - Jess, Jay's twin, is shot and killed by an unknown assailant while working late at the family business.

Very good episode!

Lee Kinsolving appeared in The Rifleman in Boomerang

A big thank you to both of you (Deneen & wildwest), but honestly, the pleasure is all mine. I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's fun sharing all these westerns with all of you.

And someone told me there was no interest in westerns anymore. Boy, were they wrong!

No interest in Westerns???? those folks must be smokin' Jimsem Weed (Mescalaro Curse).

Even the Hallmark channel is still putting out Westerns some produced by Michael Landon Jr. Nothin' better than a handsome man on a fast horse i say!

"Lover Boy" - Ken Curtis (Festus) played the part of a "Play Boy".

No facial hair and a different voice.

Matt Dillon once told Festus that he would recognize him (Festus) without the beard. I'm sure that statement was to remind the audience about "Lover Boy". Funny!
