According to stranger than fiction: agatha christie's true crime inspirations, in England, butler john "babbacome" lee was sentenced to hang for the gruesome murder of his employer in November 1884. However, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment when execution was botched.

A botched execution would be horrible to experience on both ends. But it does happen. This would be horrible!

If someone experiences a botched execution, is it automatic a life sentence?

What if you survive your execution, lethal injection and electric chair somehow, what will they do with you?

In 1882, the Brearley School, an academy for girls, was started in new York city. The founder was Samuel Brearley, a graduate of Philips Andover and Harvard. He wanted a school for girls with the same academic standards for girls as there were for boys.

This ties in around the time as the episode The Woman. Interesting!

I saw this on a poster in an elevator. H. Bockbrinker of Berlin was granted large German patent for the revolving door on December 23, 1881. Theophilious von kammel of Philadelphia was granted the American patent on the revolving door on this day in history, august 7, 1888.
