The last surviving Wizard of Oz Munchkin Jerry Maren died at age 98 on May 24. His career spanned over 70 years. Enjoy the 'yellow brick road' in heaven!

I did a bit of research and found out that Jerry Maren died in San Diego, California at a nursing facility center in May 2018, after suffering from dementia. (The actual date of his passing has not been disclosed, that I know of: http://tinyurl.com/ybe75kce )

I found it interesting that Jerry broke into show business at the age of 18 when he filmed his first scenes for the Wizard Of Oz. His first appearance in the film comes when he hands Judy Garland's Dorothy an oversized lollipop, and producers picked him to stand in the middle of the Munchkin trio. He had caught their attention with his singing and dancing talent, and fame soon followed.
