Nitpicker?: Tom birch knew Lucas was living in north fork, but had no idea Margaret had died four years ago.

True, but at the same time he could have simply heard about "The Rifleman" living there and gone from there. As "wild" as Lucas supposedly was, it wouldn't surprise Birch to find out that Lucas had moved.

Good point, Morgan! The vines on the old West grapevine sometimes get dry, dusty, tangled, so sometimes there is not much juice.
