Cesare Danova
Cesare Danova
Cesare Danova guest stars in the Bonanza episode Woman Of Fire as Don Luis Santana. He is older than he was when he guest starred on The Rifleman but he is still just as good looking. The episode is a take off on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew & has some very funny moments & I fell in love with his smile all over again. If you have the time & want to see a still very good looking Cesare Danova, watch the episode on You Tube. He's much better looking in color.

Re: Cesare Danova
I just finished watching "Duel Of Honor" with Cesare Danova.
Now I'm watching Ronald Reagan on "Wagon Train" (MeTV) in color.
The character Ronald is married to is NANCY. Hmmm
Chuck was soo darn handsome in "Ride Beyond Vengeance" - I almost couldn't stand it!
I like the black & white episodes of the early westerns but it's nice to see the eye and hair color of some of the stars I've only seen in black & white.
I didn't know Robert Horton ("Wagon Train") was a red-head with freckles.
I wish I could see the colors of the pretty dresses Miss Kitty wore. Oh Well!

Nearly half of the 20 years of Gunsmoke, were in color...
Didn't she wear pretty dresses in those years?

Re: Cesare Danova
Dan - The dresses Kitty wore in the color episodes were not as elegant as the dresses she wore in the black & white episodes. In the black & white episodes Kitty's hats coordinated with the dresses. And let's not forget the parasols. I've seen the still shots - Beautiful!

There have been discussions about a wardrobe budget especially after Kitty gained a little weight in the color episodes. She seemed to wear the same orange dress quite often.
Wardrobe Budget? Matt - Chester - Festus & Doc wore the same clothes during the entire 20 years.
There should have been more money to spend on Kitty's wardrobe. (JMO)
Not that it really matters - Amanda/Kitty looked gorgeous in anything.

Re: Cesare Danova
Deneen I did not know that about Robert Horton
and the lack of wardrobe changes with the actors. I read once it was to keep episodes uniform. I saw an online interview of James Drury and he said many times he was working on two or three episodes (filming them) at one time. he would literally do a scene in one episode then get on his horse and ride to another set or location and do a scene for another episode. they kept the clothes the same so there would not be any mix up. Trampas also wore the same as did the Cartwrights.
and frabirder.....I agree with you I think Cesare was handsome. I read once that when he he was a new and struggling actor and Chuck actually helped him to get the part on Rifleman

Don't forget... I'm a guy. 100%..
Dresses are not on our list of things to watch...
(unless, of course, they are of certain varieties, and we will leave it at that..)
One thing, if I were to think about Kitty, was,
as the years went along, and were not especially kind to her,
those dresses she wore in B&W, would not have looked to good on her
when she, let's say, 'aged'... and put on the extra poundage,
I think her wardrobe was chosen to do the best they
could to make her look as good as possible ...

Dan I appreciate a 'mans point of view' on a lot of these topics. you probably get sick of our swooning over Lucas Boy all the time.
